How can you tell whether your child is experiencing ‘growing pains’ or it’s something more serious? Join us at Chiswick Medical Centre on June 25th at 7pm for a FREE event with Sally Tenant, Paediatric Orthopaedic Consultant, will explain to parents the process of normal growth and the more painful conditions that can be associated with it. She will also be on-hand to answer any growth and developmental questions you may have.
ABOUT SALLY TENANT
Miss Sally Tennant attained most of her surgical training in London, completing her specialist training as an orthopaedic surgeon in 2004. After 18 months sub-specialising in paediatric orthopaedic surgery at the British Columbia Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada (12 months) and at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore (6 months), she was appointed Paediatric Orthopaedic Consultant at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, and at St Mary’s Hospital, London in 2005.
While continuing to practice very broadly with an interest in most areas of paediatric orthopaedics, both trauma and elective, Miss Tennant has specific interests in the management of DDH (Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip), the management of clubfoot (including the use of the Ponseti technique) and other foot conditions, neuromuscular disorders and paediatric knee problems. She also works closely with the foetal medicine departments at St Mary’s Hospital and Queen Charlotte’s Hospital, undertaking ante-natal counselling of pregnant women following the ultrasound diagnosis of congenital orthopaedic deformities, frequently managing their orthopaedic care post-natally too. Links with the renowned Paediatric infectious diseases unit at St Mary’s Hospital involve her in the regular management of bone and joint infection cases there.
