Love Your Line: Transport Museum Acton Depot Open Weekend
You’ve been to the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden, your kids are mad for it, but have you been to the depot?! This weekend you have a chance to learn more about London’s Underground lines at The Museum Depot in Acton – a working museum store housing over 320,000 objects that’s only open to the public three times a year so don’t miss out. Family activities will include track building, virtual reality immersive maintenance, miniature railway rides, planting a seed train and bite-sized family tours. Food stalls and a picnic area will be outside the depot.

Barbican Conservatory Open Day
A tropical oasis in the heart of London, that’s free to explore? Yes please. This Sunday the Barbican Conservatory is having a free open day. Come recharge and relax amongst the exotic fish and 2,000 species of tropical plants and trees. Then open your eyes and realise the monkeys you hear are your children. If you fancy it there’s also a unique afternoon tea on offer, with cakes and savouries each inspired by a fruit, flower or herb grown in the Conservatory.

Playing Up at Tate Britain
Playing Up (a collaboration between Theatre of Research, Live Art Development Agency and Tate Early Years and Family Programme) is a game for families to play together. Join a hands-on introduction to live art that encourages children’s creativity, confidence and imagination. Museum assistants will explain how to play the game and give you all the props and materials you need. Then you are free to go off as a family and start playing up around the gallery.

Spring Themed Storytelling with Vanessa Woolf at Leighton House Museum
Celebrate the Spring season with an afternoon of enchanting storytelling with Vanessa Woolf. Featuring Echo and Narcissus at 2pm and Why Dogs Chase Cats, a tale from the Orient at 3pm: choose to attend just one or stay for both. Families can also try exploring the house with the new Scavenger Hunt Trail, the first of a series of fun and interactive trails helping you discover Leighton, his house and garden. Ask for a pack in reception.
