Royal Ramble: 5km Family Challenge for London’s Air Ambulance

Do good, keep the family fit and see Hampton Court Palace in the bargain at the Royal Ramble 5km Family Challenge, to benefit London’s Air Ambulance and Historic Royal Palaces. Suitable for kids ages 5 and up, the walk takes place on Sunday the 17th of April 2016. The five kilometres meander through the flower-filled palace gardens and home park, following a trail of clues that reveal the site’s 500-year history as well as the wildlife now found in the park.

After the ramble, lunch will be served in the palace’s Clore Learning Centre. To round out the day, participants can visit Hampton Court Palace free of charge, to be awed by Henry VIII’s Great Hall, the Chapel Royal or the enormous kitchens designed to serve some 600 people at a time.

The entry fee for the Royal Ramble is £45 (which includes lunch), and participants are asked to pledge to raise £150 (or more!) for the charities. All funds raised will be evenly divided between London’s Air Ambulance and Historic Royal Palaces. The former delivers an advanced trauma team to critically injured people in London, serving the 10 million people who live, work and travel within the M25. Historic Royal Palaces looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle, helping everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society, in some of the greatest palaces ever built.
