WLM’s Top London Portrait Photographer Competition is in full swing: we’ve introduced you to six of the dozen nominees (here and here) who made the short list. Today we bring you the next three finalists, who tell us a bit about themselves and their photography styles:
Elena Litsova
I am a London-based, natural light child/family and lifestyle photographer. I have a strong passion for children’s photography, as I appreciate how unique, funny and random they are. I am inspired by the magic of childhood as it allows me to be imaginative and creative with my photography.
With my great friend and business partner, Brette, I share a creative energy and a distinct styling knowledge, with experience in creating events and shoots that bring ideas to life.
Our portfolio includes a wide range of portraits, lifestyle imagery and whimsical style photographs. We are expanding our way into the children’s fashion/editorial world. Watch this spot. 🙂
Sonya Walzer, LeviLily Photography
I was always fascinated by the capture of ‘a moment in time.’ I used to develop my own film in a darkroom and loved watching how the pictures slowly appeared—faces, wide eyes staring back at me—and that still influences, quite dramatically, the way I take shots today.
I work with the light, often softer or diffused light. When the light is right, under trees or amongst the autumn leaves, I’ve nature to thank that the backdrops are so breathtaking. I work on location, at clients’ homes or at my home, studio and garden shooting bumps, newborns, kids and families.
Polly Geal, Little Kin Photography
I studied photography at school but it never crossed my mind to do it professionally. After my son was born I started a blog and my love for photography exploded. When my daughter came along I knew I wanted to go professional and within weeks I was fully booked.
I love to capture fleeting moments, to freeze time through modern images that will be loved for years to come.
Children are magical just the way they are and I strive to celebrate childhood through my storytelling portraits. I see beauty in everyday moments: tiny newborns creating besotted new parents, sibling tickle fights, Eskimo kisses, tender embraces.
I only shoot with natural light, photographing families in their homes or on location in some of London’s loveliest spaces.
