Now that we know who will lead the government in Westminster (more or less), it’s time to report the result of The MotherHood’s exercise in democracy: the winner of London’s Best Mummy Blogger.

We are thrilled to announce that the winner is Lorna Hayward for her blog The Mumblings! Lorna’s personal tales of the many trials of motherhood has readers in hysterics of recognition. Such brutal and hilarious honesty (and perhaps her liberal use of profanity) propelled The Mumblings to the top of the poll.

When we told Lorna she had won, here’s what she said: “Well, I was not expecting that. I am absobloodylutely over the chuffing moon. Having made a huge amount of change, and taken many a risk in the pursuit of a better balance, and indulged my passion to write honestly about being a mum and beyond—winning London’s Best Mummy Blogger is the icing on my massive happy cake. Thank you SO much (see, it’s not just my mum reading it!!).”

Thanks to our lovely prize donors, Lorna wins a package stay at the Dorsett Hotel, a personalised Get Sketched In artwork from Louisa Cookson, and a shopping voucher to spend as she pleases at Westfield. A huge thank you also to our partner Marsh & Parsons for sponsoring this year’s London’s Best Mummy Blogger competition.

Our fabulous runners-up are Sunita Harley, of Lucky Things, and Dina Maktabi and Nathalie Bernadotte of Kensington Mums. Sunita won your hearts (and votes) with her chats about everything from confidence to IVF, from wellbeing to style. Or perhaps it was her professed love of lounge discos with her daughters… Dina and Nathalie’s website connecting mums and providing vital info for London families made theirs a go-to site for many of you.

Thank you, readers, for your thoughtful nominations and for voting. And congratulations to all, including our original 21 nominees!
