If you’re looking to take up a new hobby or learn a new skill in 2013, why not consider getting messy with some clay? This one isn’t for the children though – this is for mums or dads.
Kite Studios in W12 are now running pottery classes for adults during school term time. The classes evoke memories of school art rooms and really help you escape from the strains and stresses of work or parenthood for a few hours each week. With the help of local professional potter and sculptor Francis, you can hone your skills making a pinch pot, learn how to make ‘slip’ or even throw your own pot on the wheel.
We went along to have a go and found it surprisingly hard! Watch here to see how we got on:
Classes run on Mondays from 11.30am – 2pm for a 10 week term (you can drop in and out whenever you like) or go for a ‘taster’ class to see if you like it. The next session for adults starts on January 22nd from 11:30 -2 and costs £22 per class or £198 for the entire term. Kite Studios are also running family workshops every first Saturday of the month.
