Do: Pick Your Own…

Do: Pick Your Own…

westlondonmum.co.uk

There’s something nostalgic about picking your own fruits and vegetables – especially for us city folk.  I have fond memories of strawberry picking as a child or more accurately strawberry eating – one for the basket, one for me…

Even though small city gardens can yield an abundance of produce, nothing beats a day out in the country to stock up – my tiny patch is perfect for daily use, but if the intention is to stock up and make jams, sauces, chutneys etc then a larger amount is required and a day out at a farm is something the whole family can do and enjoy together.

This year the picking schedule is a little behind due to the unseasonal weather – so have no fear if you think you’ve missed your chance! We’ve ‘picked’ our favourite options close to home. Make sure to call before you head out to ensure there is stock…
