Over the last year our previous events have raised thousands for GOSH Charity. Our next event is a very special wine tasting with Steven Spurrier (sorry kiddies, this is just for the grown ups) – if you love wine, you won’t want to miss this unique evening. However, this time we thought we’d like to spread the love and support another children’s charity.
So we asked you, our lovely and caring readers which charities have a special place in your heart. Each one is amazing and at some point we’d like to help each of them, but for this event we can only choose one – so we’re asking you once again to vote on who you’d like us to lend a helping hand to. We need your help deciding- they are all great.

Magic Breakfast
Magic Breakfast provide free healthy breakfast food to schools with over 50% free school meals to reach the hungriest children.
Magic Breakfast does not believe in sticking plaster solutions. They are dedicated to the eradication of child hunger in the morning and work closely with our partner schools to find long term solutions. Together with a strong network of corporate partners, individuals and schools we are giving over 6000 children the best start to the day.
Tommy Hollis Children’s Fund
After the tragic death of Tommy in Chiswick, The Tommy Hollis Children’s Fund aim to target those charities where their help is most needed to provide:
- immediate care
- ongoing support for children and their families
- support in bereavement
Their primary focus is helping local charities as they have been given so much support from the West London community following Tommy’s death and would like to put something back.
Rugby Portobello Trust
RPT helps local young people to build their community by providing facilities, skills, activities and guidance that promote a stable society in a deprived areas. Services range from play schemes in schools to helping homeless children in the borough. The charity touches the lives of over 1100 local children.
Kids Company
Kids Company was founded by Camila Batmanghelidjh in 1996. We provide practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children. Their services reach 36,000 and intensively support 18,000 children across London, including the most deprived and at risk whose parents are unable to care for them due to their own practical and emotional challenges. For many, the roles of adult and child are reversed and, despite profound love, both struggle to survive.
West London Action for Children
WLAC work with families, teenagers and children facing many different challenges and experiences. Some of these have included: Domestic violence, bereavement, divorce and separation, school exclusions, bullying and truancy, mental health concerns, parenting difficulties, resettlement trauma, substance misuse, experiences of abuse and racism among others.
Tiny Tickers
Tiny Tickers exists to improve the early detection and care of babies with serious heart conditions. Every year in the UK, about 5,000 babies are born with congenital heart defects (CHD). Tiny Tickers is working to improve early detection, so that more heart babies receive the care they need, avoid unnecessary illness and have the chance of a better start in life. Early detection includes improving screening for CHD before birth (prenatal screening), testing for undetected CHD after a baby is born (e.g. Pulse Oximetry) and creating awareness of the signs of undetected heart conditions at home and in the community.
