Bob & Blossom
Creative mum Kirsten launched Bob & Blossom in 2000 after her son was born. It started with a range of baby t-shirts she could gift to her friends, who had also had new babies. She approached her favourite stores to see if they would stock them and they were a hit. Since then B&B has grown to include a super soft cotton babywear range, sweatshirts galore, and the popular birthday t-shirt collection and a variety of tutus. Check out their little shop in East London’s Columbia Road, home to the famous Sunday flower market.

WORD
Anah Parker-Dean, a former buyer at ASOS, started WORD while on maternity leave after the birth of her first child in 2016. She calls it a ‘family lifestyle destination’ in the heart of Walthamstow Village. “Being a first time mum discovering and buying small brands for my new babe became my new obsession, a new world of buying to discover and it felt exciting. So many amazing brands out there and most of them started by mums themselves who had dreams of a different future for their own little ones.”
She tested the waters by hosting a market, which was a success, so she quit her job and opened a pop-up shop which led to the permanent location. She stocks beautiful baby and children’s clothing along with accessories and toys. In non-Covid times you can even take a yoga class here!
