Staying in the city is great when there’s so much to do. Each week we’ll bring you five ideas for getting the most out of your summer in London. If you’re looking activities for kids, make sure to check out our clubs and classes as well as our overall summer section for more ideas! Have fun!
1. Watch a Film Under the Stars
Kew the Movies is running limited showings, on the 22nd and 23rd of July (Grand Budapest Hotel, Back to the Future) and again in early September (Casablanca, Mama Mia!). And all summer Nomad Cinema is showing films ranging from The Princess Bride to Close Encounters of the Third Kind at such a variety of venues (Fulham Palace, Queen’s Park, Hyde Park lido, Brompton Cemetary…) one is bound to be near you.
2. Laugh and Drink
From comedy to beer—it’s all happening at the Ealing Summer Festival.
3. Go for a swim
Indoor or outdoor, beach or lido: find out where to swim in London.
4. Give Back to Nature
Help clean up the river at Crabtree Wharf in Fulham on the last day in July, or join in another Thames21 cleanup event.
5. Be a tourist in your city
Jump on a tour bus, grab your camera, visit some of London’s iconic sites and pretend to be a tourist. There’s a reason London is one of the top visited cities in the world and as locals we can take it for granted. Discover your own city with some great ideas and packages from Discount London.
