What better way to spend nap time than browsing some home decor blogs, right? We all need a little inspiration from time to time, especially when it comes to our homes, as they can often play second fiddle to a busy family schedule. Our contributor Liivi Hess of Magnolia Hill Interiors shares her top five interior and lifestyle blogs. Enjoy!
Front & Main is the blog of Brooklyn-based homewares company West Elm. Named after the street corner where the company originated, it offers a fun mix of inspiration for the home. The company’s products are thrown in as well, but this doesn’t detract from the overall value of the blog. I especially love the “Object Lesson” section which focuses on products made with specific materials and methods. Front & Main also applauds small designers and handmade products in the “We Heart Handmade” section.
Chevrons & Stripes
Stylist and jeweller Sarah Lederman puts up an inspiring mix of lifestyle, interiors and “the little things that make life worth living”. The text is worldly and energetic, and the graphic style makes you feel like you’re having a sneakpeek through your much-cooler older sister’s bedroom! A great place to look for everything from a funky little-known artist to commission for a piece for the living room, to a great recipe for a Saturday night dinner party.
Colour-lovers unite; this is THE blog to check out if you love bright, bold products and interiors! A self-professed colour addict, author Will, aka Mr. Bazaar, is a young stylist from the UK. I love the tablescape ideas he posts for every season and event, plus the lovely photographs he uses to demonstrate colour trends and ideas for residential interiors.
The Glitter Guide
Not just an interiors blog, The Glitter Guide is the place to get your fix for all things beautiful, fun and inspiring. There are a number of sections focusing on home decor, including Style at Home, My Favourite Room and Design Trends. The photography is lovely and the feel of the whole site is great for a pick-me-up. They have a super fun free newsletter as well!
Visit Cococozy a couple of times and you’ll feel like you’ve made a new (ultra-stylish) best friend! Los Angeles based blogger Coco adds a personal spin to her design trend and style updates by dishing on her life, goals and daily gossip! A meaty read with significant-length posts every day, Cococozy also features the author’s own textile and accessory designs which she sells in the online shop.
