Things to do in London: Fulham Palace

Bishop’s Choice

I have been living in Fulham for six years and could not have picked a more perfect spot to be raising our two kids.  The best part is having Fulham Palace at our doorstepIt is hands down my favourite place in all of London and as long as it’s not raining you will probably find me relaxing in the beautifully manicured gardens with my kids..

The Palace is an incredible place to bring energetic children because it has an enormous walled garden with a huge lawn in the middle in which they can run wild.  You can simply pop your picnic blanket down and not have to worry about constantly chasing after the kids.  There are giant pinecones, tree trunks and climbing trees, and my kids are always playing make-believe hidden away under a tree.  I love that they can have some good old-fashioned fun burning off energy, using their imaginations, and picking up sticks — the simple things in life!

A lovely café inside the palace serves delicious coffees, cakes, sandwiches and drinks.  There are always plenty of highchairs around and there’s a baby changing area as well.  During the summertime the café serves up a nice BBQ outside (that’s usually where you find my husband lingering).  Fulham Palace runs loads of events throughout the year for grownups and children.  There are outdoor movies all summer long, as well as several plays for kids.  Lots of seasonal events happen too, such as an Easter egg hunt, teddy bear picnics, and festive fun for Christmas, so be sure to check the website for details and dates.

If you are ever in the area or want something new to do in London, hop over to Fulham Palace for an amazing day in a gorgeous location!

P.S. No dogs are allowed in the gardens so better leave Fido at home.

Fulham Palace is located at: Bishop’s Avenue, Fulham, SW6 6EA
