Easter Holidays 2017: Activities in London for Kids

The Easter holidays are nearly upon us, but fear not: from egg hunts to adventure clubs, we’ve rounded up some hip happenings across London for you and your tots to enjoy.

SHARKY & GEORGE ADVENTURE CLUB

What: Sharky & George Adventure Club
When: weekdays 3rd to 13th April 2017
Where: Hyde Park, W2 2UH

This Easter, join the Sharky & George Adventure Club here in Hyde Park, from the 3rd to the 13th of April. Each day includes fun activities for children ages 5 to 10, such as boat races, kiting, quests, science madness and more! Drop off between 8:45 and 9:00; pick up between 15:40 and 16:00. Prices: £83.00 per child per day or £374.00 per child for five days.

Science Camp with Richer Education

What: Science Club
When: 3 April to 10th April from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm
Where: Imperial College

Children will be participating in a variety of demonstrations, group activities and practical experiments and will learn about exciting and enriching topics. Students learn through a hands-on approach and are welcome to take home any objects they have made throughout the week. Costs:Week 1: £260; Week 2 £230.

SWIMMING ROCKS – CRASH COURSE

What: Swimming lessons
When: Monday 3rd April to Friday 7th April | Monday 10th April to Thursday 13th April
Where: Kentish Town, Marylebone, South Kensington, Golders Green, Chelsea, Knightsbridge

Brush up on this vital life skills at various locations across London. Available in the school holidays these courses are a great holiday activity and as they are short intensive courses, there is often significant progress over just a single week.

OLIVER IN THE OVERWORLD AT WATERMAN’S, BRENTFORD

What: Oliver in the Overworld, Easter Holiday Special
When: 9th April at 3pm & 10th April at 11am
Where: Watermans, Brentford, TW8 0DS

Krazy Kat Theatre’s Oliver in the Overworld is the first ever musical created from scratch with sign language: a funny and surreal story of a little deaf boy who travels to The Overworld, The Land of Machinery, seeking the parts to mend the memory of his best friend, Oliver the Grandfather Clock. Aimed at children ages 3 to 7, the show runs for just two days during the Easter holiday. Tickets are £8/£7.

Writing Workshops at Discovery Children’s Story Centre

What: Stitching workshop, author talks, puppet shows and more
When: throughout the Easter holiday break
Where: Discover Children’s Story Centre, Stratford, E15 4QZ

There’s loads going on this holiday at the Discover Children’s Story Centre, from a writing workshop with the author of Violet and the Smugglers to a Green Eggs and Ham Hunt on Easter weekend. Entry to the Story Centre costs £6.50 adult or child, £22 for a family ticket.

EGG TRAILS AT THE HORNIMAN

What: Horniman Easter Fair
When: 15th and 16th April 2017
Where: Horniman Museum & Gardens, Forest Hill, SE23 3PQ

Go on the Easter egg trail (£1) or see a storytelling performance inspired by Alice in Wonderland (£4 per child, £1 per adult) at the Horniman’s Easter Fair. While you’re there, you can join in puppet making, face painting and, on Saturday, check out the farmers’ market.
