The Portland Hospital is a world-renowned private healthcare facility for women and children, and it’s opening its doors to the general public on Sunday the 13th of March. A Pregnancy Open Day will give people the chance to see the UK’s largest private maternity hospital in action.
More than 1,600 babies are brought into the world every year at the Portland, and around 40,000 children are treated for a myriad of illnesses and ailments. Many of the UK’s leading neonatologists and paediatricians are based at the country’s leading private maternity hospital, and this open day represents a fantastic opportunity to meet some of them.
Parents-to-be and medical professionals will have the opportunity to tour The Portland Hospital—taking in some of the most crucial facilities, including maternity wards, state-of-the-art delivery suites and nurseries. Visitors can also take a close look at the Portland’s advanced scanning facilities, which include the very latest 4D ultrasound technology.
Throughout the Pregnancy Open Day, consultants, midwives and breastfeeding specialists will be on hand to answer questions and offer one-to-one advice. All guests will also have the opportunity to learn about the various antenatal and postnatal classes available, which include Pilates, antenatal yoga, hypno-birthing and breastfeeding.
All mums-to-be attending the Open Day can take a free ‘bump photo’, courtesy of Image Thirst photographers. And there will be exclusive goodie bags provided by some of the UK’s leading suppliers of baby products.
Amanda Adams-Wells, the Midwifery Led Outpatients Team Lead at The Portland Hospital, says, “The Pregnancy Open Day is a great opportunity for anyone who is thinking of embarking on the wonderful journey that is pregnancy. Guests can come and meet the team and we can answer any questions in a relaxed and informal setting.”
The Portland Hospital Pregnancy Open Day welcomes all expectant mothers and their partners. “The Open Days are all about you, and our aim is for you and your family to leave with complete information and confidence in pregnancy, birth and the aftercare that we offer at The Portland Hospital,” says Amanda, “We look forward to seeing you there.” There is absolutely no entry charge, although visitors should register in advance, as this event is expected to be exceptionally popular.
People who can’t attend on Sunday 13th March need not worry, as there are a further three Pregnancy Open Days planned for 2016. Expectant parents and medical professionals can register their interest for future Open Days here.
A multidisciplinary team of highly experienced midwives and consultants utilise the very latest technology to provide world-class maternity care at The Portland Hospital. But don’t just take their word for it—see for yourself on Sunday 13th March.
