Held on Saturdays from the 1st of October, each of the two-hour lessons takes place at the world-renowned Imperial College London. Whether you’d like your child to become a confident public speaker, advance their knowledge of grammar or improve their mathematical reasoning, these courses have it covered.
English Grammar
Children: 7 to 12
Level: All abilities
When: Saturdays from 9:30am to 11:30am
With a focus on making grammar fun, these classes concentrate on teaching the grammatical structures that cause the greatest challenges for children. Children work both independently and in groups supported by English language specialists. Topics include word classes, vocabulary, connectives, clauses and academic writing. The course is also suitable for children with a more advanced understanding of grammar.
Mathematics
Children: 8 to 10
Level: All abilities
When: Saturdays from 12:00pm to 2:00pm
This mathematics workshop covers fundamental areas such as data handling, algebra, numeracy and geometry. Working both in groups and independently, and supported by tutors who are qualified mathematicians, children create, question, collaborate and find solutions to problems, including reading and interpreting graphs, decimals, angles and polygons with a focus on developing mathematical reasoning and problem solving skills.
Debate & Public Speaking
Children: 9 to 14
Level: All abilities
When: Saturdays from 2:20 pm to 4:20pm
Tutors specialised in English and law lead this debating and public speaking workshop. Children participate in the design and preparation of debates and discourses related to current UK and international issues. With a focus on effective critical thinking, children learn how to put forward a persuasive and coherent argument as well as how to deconstruct opposing arguments.
