Each month we feature a mum who tells us what’s great about her London hood. This time we talk to Zoe Blaskey, a Clapham mother of one and a Kundalini Khalsa Way pregnancy yoga teacher, certified coach and meditation teacher as well as founder of Motherkind, where she has created a community revolving around wellness for mums. She tells us what she loves about her corner of South London.
Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m Zoe, mum of one and founder of Motherkind—wellbeing for modern mums.
Which area do you live in, and what do you love about it?
I live in Clapham, South London. I love having the common at the end of our road and all the playgroups—we’re spoilt for choice.
Where’s your favourite family-friendly eatery?
It’s not very original but we love Gail’s on Abbeville Road—it’s around the corner from our house and does amazing salads, avocado on toast and the best cakes.
Where’s your favourite place to escape in your area for a little ‘me’ time?
If I get any time to myself I always go to yoga class at Eve and Grace—it’s a lovely studio about five minutes from my house and if there’s time afterwards, I’ll go to No. 32 for a healthy breakfast and a Press juice.
What local activities do you and your family take part in?
My husband takes Jessie to Little Kickers football every Saturday morning—they love having that as their thing together. Jessie and I go to loads of classes and playgroups together. We’ve got so many in Clapham I feel very lucky.
Is there a little hidden gem in your area you’d like to share?
I love Fresh Ground, there’s a brilliant playgroup every weekday morning from 9:30am and the café does amazing healthy food and drinks—I always have a turmeric latte.
