We start every January with a new start…going to the gym, eating healthier and generally trying to be the best new version of ourselves. Our local communities sometimes also need a little refresher too. One current campaign running is the Love Acton campaign, which is the rebranding of it. As part of the wide range of town centre improvement projects supported through the Mayor of London’s Outer London fund and Ealing Council, Acton Community Forum is working with local residents, artists and community groups to create designs that are rooted in Acton—the historical and contemporary, the people and places, the character and spirit.
This initiative is totally community driven. The contest is open to anyone. So if you have a little budding designer or writer encourage them to create something and submit it. In fact, youth work is highly encouraged and the forum are actively working with young people. All designs can be easily submitted via the website and a simple voting system allows people to vote for their favourite choice.
The Brief
The Love Acton Campaign seeks strong design ideas to brand Acton. They are looking for designs that are rooted in Acton – the historical and contemporary, the people and places, the character and spirit. The work will be featured on ‘Love Acton’ logo, shopping bags, town centre banners, town centre murals, town centre event flags and Acton traders group logo.
Contributions can be in many forms including painting, print, photography, graphics, a poem etc. They will be coordinating open access art workshops, sessions to digitalise images, or you can simply submit your own. The deadline is February 20, 2012.
