babyitsyours was started by two mums and friends Nasrin and Dipika, both based out of Chiswick. The site is for parents who want to sell, swap and buy great quality second hand or nearly new baby, children or pregnancy products in an environmentally friendly way. All items are clearly tagged with the following labels: new, nearly new, lightly worn, good value or designer, making it an easy shopping experience.

WLM caught up with Nasrin and Dipika recently:
What inspired you to start babyitsyours?
Both being mums we started the site after realising how many things babies and children acquire and with such a limited shelf life we wanted to help other parents make the most of their items. We appreciate that living in London space is of a premium and we can’t all store our children’s treasured toys forever. This site enables you to pass on your preloved items to new loving homes. We also believe that we have an environmental responsibility to the planet and to our kids and this is our little way of helping its survival.
What challenges have you faced with your business?
Balancing children and running a business has been the hardest point. However, through learning to manage our time effectively we have managed to make it work.
How do you juggle running your own business and being a mum?
Juggling is one thing that you learn to do once you become a mum. By planning and organising our day it helps. Most of our work is done when the kids have gone to bed or take a quick nap!
What is your favourite kids shop in west London?
Trotters on Turnham Green terrace, they have all the little things you need.
What is your favourite kid friendly place in west London?
Chiswick House – it has a great café with beautiful grounds and Westfield shopping centre, the baby feeding/changing facilities are fab.
How do you spend your downtime?
The spare time we do have is great when it’s spent with our husbands and friends over an enjoyable meal and a good glass of wine.
