The Nutcracker on West London Mum

Moscow City Ballet returns by popular demand to Richmond Theatre on with The Nutcracker. This extraordinary, full-scale production from the distinguished Russian choreographer Victor Smirnov-Golovanov, who founded the company in 1988, is a stunning demonstration of the precision, artistry and sheer grace for which the company is renowned for.

Featuring some of Russia’s best young dancers, accompanied by the Moscow City Ballet orchestra. Don’t miss your chance to witness a performance of a genuine Russian ‘big story’ ballet, combining artistry, technique, narrative and live music to create an all-round true dance experience. These beautiful productions have become almost as much of a festive tradition as panto here at Richmond Theatre, and are the perfect way to introduce young children to classical ballet.

The Nutcracker tells how little Clara and her Nutcracker Prince defeat the armies of the mouse king and embark on a magical sleigh ride to the Kingdom of Sweets, where they meet the Sugarplum Fairy, dancing snowflakes and a whole host of delightful characters.
