With the cold weather lasting long, a lot of families still have the heat on in June (I do!) and those costs are starting to add up. I cannot stress the difference having our loft insulated has made to both our energy bills as well as our comfort level in the house. One energy provider helping families out with savings and doing their bit for is Southern Electric, with their offer of free loft and cavity wall insulation for all SSE customers. Yes you read that correct.
Not an SSE customer? Don’t despair, if your home qualifies you might also be able to get free insulation as well. All you have to do is call and ask. Please see the terms and conditions to qualify for the free insulation offer
The SSE website gives lots of tips on ways of saving. Did you know that filling your cavity wall and loft can yield of savings over £300 per year? Switching to compact fluorescent bulbs could save around £40 over the bulb’s lifetime. Just by turning your heating down by 1 degree you can save over £60 per year. I know of a few things I could use that extra savings on. Besides keeping some cash in your wallet, you’re also doing your bit for the environment and not to mention, keeping yourself extra warm and cosy in those cold winter (or in this case summer) months.
What’s on offer?
• Free home insulation for all SSE customers
• Free insulation for non SSE customers- as long as their home meets the terms and conditions
• Free suitability assessment for non customers to see if the property qualifies for the free insulation offer
