Get Fit—Metabolic Circuit Training at W10 Performance

Tucked under they Westway, W10 Performance stripped back facilities focus on what’s important—getting you the results you want.  Reminiscent of an old-school gym, their back to basics approach is proving popular and effective.  The team are very friendly and founder Jean Claude is one of the most passionate personal trainers I’ve ever met.  He’s a local dad and his wife is a yoga instructor—they live and breath fitness.

At first the idea of a gym targeting mums that didn’t offer a crèche sounded crazy.  But the more I thought about it, the more it makes sense.  This is about you.  It’s about getting you from point A to point B in your fitness goals, whether you’ve just had a baby and want to get back into shape or it’s been a few years.  Members at the gym are from all different age groups and fitness levels.

The gym offers two membership options.  A full membership includes: unlimited access to the gym, four personal training sessions (per month), movement screening, ongoing testing, bespoke training program, ongoing nutritional consultation as well as access to the metabolic circuit training.  Alternatively,  you can just sign up to the Metabolic Circuit training—which for only £89 a month you can do as many classes as you’d like.

The metabolic circuit training is great, because it combines cardio and weights at short interval—essential to rev up our metabolism (which sadly as we age slows down).  They change their class every month in order to keep your muscles engaged.

WLM went and checked out a class, enjoy this short clip and meet Adam (one of the personal trainers) as well as Daisy (a local mum taking the class):

What about the kids?
Although there’s no crèche the gym offers their circuit training at three different times throughout the day—6am, 12pm and 8pm(Mon-Fri) and 7am, 1pm on Saturdays.  So you either start or end your day with a great workout or squeeze it in during a lunch.  Their popular Jeans Challenge program will be commencing again on May 7th.  It’s a serious approach and not for the faint at heart, delivering lasting results, promising to have you drop two dress sizes in eight weeks.

There is no minimum contract at W10 Performance either, so feel free to join for a month and try to see if the gym works for you.
