As a mum manicures can seem like a huge indulgence—the constant picking up of toys, washing, cleaning and general rummaging in bags, but lets face it, a manicure jazzes up even the most basic outfit. I recently went to newly opened Portobello Road hotspot Coco Nail Bar for a much need manicure and pedicure…
Knowing that I had a busy weekend ahead of me, the idea of a Friday appointment seemed silly, but life doesn’t stop because I had my nails done—unfortunately. I got to spend one blissful day in love with my newly painted digits, assuming that my weekend of DIY would probably destroy them. Imagine my surprise when after sanding and painting furniture, my nails still looked great. In fact they lasted a week!
Owner and new mum, Tima Reshad has focused on one thing and does it well. The venue is spacious and modern and can accommodate a few buggies if necessary. In fact, on Tuesdays they offer ‘Mummy and Baby’ mornings with a pop up on-site crèche featuring a MNT nanny, kids snack boxes and Apple TV—keeping the kids entertained, while Mum receives a much needed pamper session.
If you can’t make it to Coco during the day, no worries—they are open late and boast a fully stocked bar as well as on call Sushi. Turn your mani/pedi into an evening soiree with the girls. Pampering and a cocktail—lovely.
Coco has nailed it.
