Get Back to Nature
Every April WLM celebrates Earth Day by going a little greener and highlighting some local eco initiatives as well as environmentally friendly businesses in and around west London.
We couldn’t think of a better way to round off the month than by getting outdoors and connecting with nature in the middle of the city. So, we’re teaming up with the The Royal Parks Foundation to host a fun and FREE Discovery Day at the LookOut in Hyde Park on Saturday 25th April from 11am to 2pm.
The event is free, but booking is essential!
Activities will include:
- Pond dipping, where children can investigate the inhabitants of the LookOut’s beautiful sunshine pond and learn more about the magic of pond life
- Log rolling, so that kids can look for mini-beast habitats to see what’s emerging from a wintery hibernation
- Examining and crafting birds’ nests
- Spring blossom finger-painting
- Making a daisy bookmark
- Making a paper plant pot and planting a seed
- Following the discovery trails
- Using specialist scientific equipment to take a closer look at the natural world
Please note: No more than 3 children per adult. All children must be supervised at all times.
Light snacks and refreshments will also be provided on the day. The session will run from 11 to 2pm and families can drop in at any time throughout the session. Although this is a free event, booking is essential.
The LookOut is located at: The LookOut, Hyde Park, London W2 2UH
