The delightful Hummingbird Cafe on Oaklands Grove, off the Uxbridge Road is now open for dinner in the evening. Recently re-opened and re-furbed, they have expanded into the next door property giving a new bright space which feels airy and light during the day, yet cosy by night.
Alongside their original breakfast menu of pastries and cakes they are now serving up delicious sharing plates in the evenings from Tuesday to Saturday.
Small plates averaging at about £7 include classic bouillabaisse, moroccan lamb shoulder, slow roasted pulled pork with crispy chorizo and a delicious fig, pea and green bean salad. Both the locally and ethically sourced seasonal menu and very decent accompanying wine list are clearly influenced by the owners’ Moroccan and Kiwi origins.
To launch their new extended hours, they are doing a special promotion – “bring a friend and eat half price”.
