Queen of Arts will be running Arts on the Pier classes at Chiswick’s historic pier for one week in August. The session aims to introduce children to contemporary and modern art in an enjoyable, informative and relaxed setting as well as provide insight into what benefits the arts can offer. The workshop and exhibition are designed to give children a taste of the real art world while having fun.
The workshop is geared towards children starting at age 7-11 and will run over five days – the first four days will be spent looking at an evolving set of themes from composition to perspective plus a range of contemporary genres exploring performance, photography, collage and illustration. On day five the class will produce, curate and hang their own work and host a private viewing which family and friends will be invited to. This will give them the chance to display their work and celebrate what they have achieved during the week.
