Music & Movement Online Activities

Another month of winter has blown in but we are ready for it with a selection of online music and movement classes to warm things up! These are online classes for a range of ages, from baby to teenagers. And a bonus fun one for mums. Shake what your mama gave ya, make some beautiful noise and liven up your lockdown.

Music Classes

Strings Club

Instrumental lessons don’t have to stop just cause we’re all at home. Strings Club offers group guitar, violin and ukulele lessons for total beginners and those with a bit more experience. Their warm, welcoming teachers make online learning fun. They also conduct camps and offer private lessons if the group vibe isn’t your kid’s thing.

Richard is a performer extraordinaire, with multiple costume changes, original catchy songs, props and plenty of humour in every session. His online sessions are a big blast of after-school fun.

Hartbeeps

Caterpillar Music

Monkey Music

Monkey Music baby and toddler classes are organised into 4 stages of classes. Each stage is tailored specifically to support young families with babies, toddlers and pre-school children aged between 3 months and 4 years of age.

Melodies for Mums

A free online singing programme for new mothers who may be experiencing feelings of loneliness, isolation and anxiety. Mums who could have, or be at risk of having, post natal depression. Sign up now to join the next course.

Movement Classes

Boy Blue Dance Lessons

This award winning UK hip-hop dance company is offering kids the chance to learn some moves. Boy Blue Kids After School Dance Club on Tuesdays is a fun and active session for primary school age children to groove, dance and be creative. Older kids get their chance to get down in the Youth Open Class (11-16yrs) on Tuesdays. Note they are also teaching online adult classes, if you want to get up and shake off the home-school drama.

West London Performing Arts Academy Charity helps students of all ages overcome their shyness whilst working on confidence building and self-esteem. The charity offers acting, singing and dance classes with industry professionals for ALL children and young people. ZooNation Dance on Demand

In response to these challenging times for the live arts sector, dance company ZooNation are working with some incredible ZooNation artists to offer a free series of high energy dance classes to take part in at home. These weekly sessions are an ideal opportunity for you to learn something new and improve your Hip Hop moves. Led by our brilliant team of professional artists, each class will explore different techniques that inspire ZooNation’s signature style.

Greenwich Dance Classes

Greenwich Dance offers several movement classes for little ones online. Family Class (3‑5yrs) encourages families to explore and learn together through movement, singing, drawing, storytelling and making. Parents and Babies (0‑3yrs) class uses creative play, multisensory activities, nurturing parent-child partner exercises, everyday objects found in the home and music from around the globe. The class has a relaxed format that opens with welcoming everyone and awakening the body and imagination, building towards more energetic movement through creative activities then closes with quiet imagery-based relaxation. Hip Hop (5‑7yrs) is a high energy lesson where you will work through Hip-Hop foundations and grooves and learn new fun routines.

Dance Mums

Finally… one just for the mums. A free 15-minute daily 80s & 90s style fitness dance class. Go back in time to an era of better tunes, sweet spandex, big hair and hip gyrations. Cut loose before the day descends into a homeschool stress-fest. And then dance around the house throughout the day anyway.
