Be healthier and happier 2016 with yoga

YogaWestCollage

The New Year often brings unrealistic pressure to start training six times a day and eat nothing but avocadoes and protein shakes. For most of us this might be a bit unrealistic and perhaps an unhealthy way to get healthier and happier in 2016. A step-by-step approach with more achievable goals that are easier to fit into already far too busy schedules generally makes more sense.

That’s why this January we’ve teamed up with Yoga West to create a series of short instructional yoga films. Each covers one of six basic yoga poses you’ll practice in most classes. They show how to safely get into each pose, how this should make you feel and what the internal and external health benefits of these poses are. And don’t worry—you don’t need to be super-fit or bendy to practice them. They are simple poses that everyone should know and everyone can do.

Build up your knowledge each week and by the end of the six weeks you’ll have a short yoga routine you can practice anytime, anywhere. You’ll be amazed by the difference even five minutes of calming yoga in the morning can make to your day and your life. The first short film here shows you how to do downward-facing dog and explains the benefits of this pose.
