Easter school holidays has felt more like a winter break than springtime but fortunately there is a selection of online theatre (including interactive and audio!) to entertain families cuddled up warm inside. Here are a few virtual theatre experiences from London theatres we think look fun…
Interactive Online Theatre at Little Angel Puppet Theatre
Little Angel Puppet Theatre offers a choice of online theatre productions that are interactive! Available on Zoom, these shows will get young audiences involved in the adventures. The popular story Where the Bugaboo Lives (ages 5-11) by Sean Taylor is brought to life in Little Angel’s first made-for-zoom, choose-your-own adventure style show. Garlic Theatre conjures a poetic, Dr Seuss world full of eggcentric puppets and music to make you roll around with laughter in Eggs on Legs (ages 3-8).

Live Theatre Meets Animation at Watermans
A new free online family show base on Michael Foreman’s classic picture book about space travel, dinosaurs, and ecological balance. Commissioned by Watermans and adapted by Roustabout this three part series is a glorious mix of theatre and animation with song, puppetry, and digital wizardry, set amongst the book’s beautiful original illustrations. Sadler’s Wells Digital Stage
‘All these things we can make‘ is a specially commissioned audio work designed for families from Charlotte Spencer Projects. It invites audiences to build (and de-construct) things with objects found in the home, so they see items in their own homes in a new and exciting way through audio instructions and music. A complimentary Activity Pack with additional ideas for things to make, do, try and talk about is also available.
Goblin Theatre Pinocchio podcast series
Goblin Theatre produce brilliant musical theatre podcasts. Their current series is The Adventures of Pinocchio but if you haven’t already heard their previous musical theatre podcasts those are still available and worth a listen. My kids love them all!

Stream Theatre: The Sorcerer’s Apprentice
This enchanting new British musical explores the extraordinary world of a sorcerer and his rebellious daughter, as she discovers the explosive possibilities of her newfound magical powers. Acclaimed musical theatre writers Richard Hough and Ben Morales Frost have created this gender-swapped twist on the timeless poem by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, which also inspired the Dukas symphony that memorably featured in the Disney film Fantasia.
