BBC Autumnwatch Experience at WWT London Wetland Centre

Have you ever wanted to be a wildlife presenter? Do you want to share your love of wildlife with the world? Now’s the time to find out, at the BBC Autumnwatch Experience at WWT London Wetland Centre. Take on the role of a wildlife researcher and set off into the wild exploring the nature reserve. Discover fascinating wetland wildlife using a specially created logbook to guide you to seasonal wildlife highlights. Join in bird watching or pond dipping sessions with an expert guide, then take your new-found wildlife expertise back to the Autumnwatch set where you can present your findings.

Chelsea History Festival

Calling all history buffs, of all ages. This festival is right up your cobbled street. In addition to loads of history walks and talks (may be ideal for older kids who are keen) there are activities for all kids like a Hidden History Hunt, Medicine Through Time activity, learn marching drills, giant games to play and a chance to learn about Elizabethan costumes. Also, the Chelsea Physic Garden will be open for free all day on Saturday, great for an explore.

Serpentine Galleries’ Family Weekend

Children and their families are invited to join Family Artists-in-Residence One of My Kind (OOMK) and form a collective based on shared beliefs, hobbies and causes. Through the workshop families can design a manifesto, create membership stickers and distribute their materials to prospective members.

Bloomsbury Festival

Bloomsbury Festival is annual celebration of the area’s pioneering creativity, presenting an inspiring programme of arts, science, literature, performance, discussion and reflection. Inspired by the 50th anniversary of Neil Armstrong’s lunar landing, the 2019 festival theme is ‘Small steps and giant leaps’. Family-friendly activities include a creative family street party to welcome the full moon rise; UCL family museum trail; moon themed poetry readings and meet-the-scientist sessions.
