We all know that the majority of New Year’s resolutions don’t even make it a week, that’s why the people over at AXA PPP healthcare want to make it as easy as possible for you to achieve your healthy goals. To help get together a plan that is right for you and will be easily achievable, AXA PPP healthcare is hosting a series of free online health clinics at the end of January. Whether you’re planning to improve your diet (and that of your family), or looking to get a better fitness regime they’ve put together a panel of experts in four areas.
The live chats and topics this month are:
Cervical cancer on Thursday 24 January 11 – 1PM
Fitness and nutrition on Thursday 24 January 1 – 3PM
Heart health on Wednesday 30 January 1 – 3PM
Pregnancy and caring for your children on Thursday 31 January 1 – 3PM
If you have any questions for the experts simply join them on the day or alternatively you can leave your query in the comments below and we will pass it on!
Cervical Cancer and why you need to be aware…
Cervical cancer is the 12th most common cancer in women and one of the few cancers that can be largely prevented with regular screening. January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month and AXA PPP healthcare expert Justin Clark, Consultant Gynaecologist from the British Medical Institute, is available online to answer questions and concerns about the disease, treatment, diagnosis or prevention so this chat is well worth a visit!
Join in! If you have a question, or just even want to share your experiences of cervical cancer, please join in here from 11am – 1pm on Thursday 24 January to get a live answer from our expert Mr Clark.
Fitness and nutrition – where and how to start…
Improving diet and fitness are common goals for the New Year, but how can you make sure you achieve them? AXA PPP healthcare expert David Williams is an expert in sports and exercise and is employed by AXA PPP healthcare to do the wellbeing assessments for their clients. He is also a talented footballer who played semi-professional football until he had to give up due to injury – he now coaches.
Join in! David will be available here from 1-3pm on Thursday 24 January to answer all your fitness and nutrition questions live, whether you’re looking to start being more active or are already doing a sport but want more information then ask David anything.
Heart health…
Over 300,000 people suffer from heart attacks and over 100,000 have strokes each year in the UK so heart health is becoming a common health problem. However there is lots we can all do to maintain a healthy heart and manage any existing heart conditions. Sarah Evans will be hosting this chat and is available to advise you on the best steps to take as well as answer any questions you may have. Sarah is the Learn Nurse Case Manager for the AXA PPP Clinical Centre and is part of the Dedicated Nurse service for patients. Access to the Dedicated Nurses is 24/7 by phone providing support to members and their families.
Join in! Ask Sarah your heart related health questions and have them answered live here from 1-3pm on Wednesday 30 January.
Pregnancy and caring for your children
Having children is a worry, especially where their health is concerned. Put any questions you may have to the Health at Hand nurses who will once again be available to answer your questions on your children’s health and wellbeing during pregnancy. Jackie Hall, the Health at Hand Team Manager, will be available to offer her expertise during the live chat.
Health at Hand is an exclusive 24/7 service for members, offering direct telephone access to expert information and peace of mind. These medical professionals are always available to answer personal questions, provide the latest information on treatments and research or even just be there for patients and family members who need someone to talk to.
Join in! Whether you have concerns over your child’s health or your own if you’re pregnant, Jackie will answer all your concerns here, from 1-3pm Thursday 31 January.
Our questions is to David – What are some great snacks to give mums energy and also increase muscle?
