Latino Bambino – Shake it, Baby!

Guest post by Urska Gestrin Mosquera:

Forget the gym, have fun instead and take the baby with you!

There can often be a lot of pressure on new mums to get back into pre-pregnancy clothes after having had a baby. But the reality of losing that baby weight and fitting an exercise workout into a mum’s busy day is not always easy. Add to that the fact that you will need to arrange a childminder whilst you go to the gym and that is enough to make you want to give up on the idea of exercising.

Well, at Latino Bambino nobody puts the baby in the corner where mama and her slinged-up partner learn silky Salsa moves.  Babies are part of the workout and very much involved in helping their mums loosing the pregnancy weight, tone up and burn calories.

With these inclusive classes, you and your baby will be able to spend quality bonding time together while you get some healthy exercise.  Not to mention that it is a great chance to socialize with other mums and an opportunity to introduce one’s child to music and movement.  Dancing also enables new mothers to ‘let loose’ and have a lot of fun with other mums and their babies.

Latino Bambino offers the same big health and fitness rewards of aerobic exercise, by:

  • Reducing stress and increasing energy
  • Raising endorphin levels to help keep post-natal depression at bay
  • Improving posture and strengthening the bones of your legs and hips
  • Increasing muscle tone and coordination and decreasing blood pressure
  • Burning up calories to help you get back into pre-pregnancy clothes.

Research has shown that babies are indeed ‘born to dance’, so mum and baby dance sessions can help give infants a better start in life, while helping their mums shed that baby weight!

Has your baby outgrown the sling and can now dance on his/her own two feet?  Is your child master of clapping – like a flamenco dancer? Got more rhythm than Ricky Martin and can shake it like Shakira? Then he/she is ready for Latino Bambino Toddler class! This class is full Latin/Tropical rhythms, enriched with colourful props where they enjoy an exciting, energetic and challenging session with Cha-Cha Cha –ing!  For ages 1-4.

Classes are at Vitality Centre, Wandsworth, 155 Merton Road, SW18 5EQ and All Souls Church, Northcote Road, St. Margaret’s/Twickenham, TW1 1PB.
